Director Kasra Farahani at CHROMISTA premiered his new feature film ‘TILT’ at Tribeca Film Festival 2017 at the weekend. An existential horror film, which Farahani also co-wrote, ‘TILT’ explores the visible paranoia of a struggling film maker (Joseph Cross), with an added component of social relevance, signifying today’s “new normal” of white male rage and entitlement. ‘TILT’ also stars Alexia Rasmussen, Kelvin Yu, Jessy Hodges, and CS Lee.

Born in Iran and raised in Los Angeles, Kasra Farahani has a strong background in production design, and continues to work in art departments for directors such as Ryan Coogler, JJ Abrams, Steven Spielberg, Tim Burton, and James Cameron. His writing/directing debut was made with his short ‘Noon’, and since then has directed various projects including the short ‘Concerning the Bodyguard’ and a 90s film for Final Fantasy XV, where he also led the art department. His work for Halo 4 won him a Streamy Award and he has also received two nominations at the Art Directors Guild. Now a director, designer and producer, Farahani hopes to continue to tell stories that combine the scope of visual worlds with the substantive drama that comes from the conflict of well-realised characters.
