
Self-taught filmmaker, Calamatic’s remake of 1992’s classic sports comedy ‘White Men Can’t Jump’, celebrates the streetball hustling culture of Los Angeles,staring Teyana Taylor, Laura Harrier, Vince Staples,Myles Bullock,and Lance Reddick. Calmatic is known for video collaborations that span some of music’s most influential artists, including Donald Glover, Kendrick Lamar, Tyler The Creator, Zayn Malik, Lizzo, Anderson. Paak, and more. His most celebrated project to date is Lil Nas X’s ‘Old Town Road (Official Video) ft. Billy Ray Cyrus’, which won the Grand Prix Entertainment Lions for Music at the Cannes Lions, as well as a VMA for Best Director. Calmatic was recognised in an ad for AT&T’s‘Codes of The Culture’ campaign as one of the leading filmmakers in the new Black Hollywood, and was named Director of the Year by Ad Age.
